Buying or renting a yukata for your wedding~

In Singapore, we rarely get to see shops selling Japanese items like yukatas or whatnots. Yes, there are stores that carry a line of yukatas and their accessories but due to our really hot weather, it's not really practical to get one anyways. BUT what if you want one to wear for your pre-wedding photoshoot or a theme that you want your guests to follow during your wedding banquet, there're a few ways you can get them. =3

BLOGSHOPS

Nothing but Japan: This is another blogshop that carries Japanese clothes and items. You can order your yukatas and getas here as well. =3

PHYSICAL SHOPS

Japan Vintage: a shop selling second hand yukatas and kimonos that is near the end of Haji Lane (the nearest MRT will be Bugis, just walk in the direction of the Raffles Medical Centre). The prices range from $25 onwards but bear in mind, the clothing are second hand and could have some stains or defects. However, I did get a decent kimono robe (in picture) from there for $20 (bargained a little with the shop owner's assistant). =3

If you don't mind browsing through dusty clothing, there's a good chance you can find a really great bargain. Just bear in mind that they don't really carry Obis (the sash you use to hold your yukata in place) so you'll need to get them somewhere else. Just check out the detail on my kimono robe! Gorgeous, isn't it? =3

Haru Yukata: Haru carries all kinds of Japanese wear to suit any taste and the best thing of all, she's located at Far East Plaza and *Scape where you can browse through the different yukatas for sale. If you want affordable new yukata, Haru may just be your answer. =)

RENTAL

かほう屋: The webmistress of this site has a big collection of Japanese clothing that is starting to burst her wardrobe. To counter this problem, she decided to rent her yukatas etc to people who just wanna have fun but don't want to go to the trouble of getting one. So if you have a wedding party that you want a yukata for, Ms yukikahou may just be your answer. =)

TheWearHouse: Another avenue for you to rent costumes! They carry not just yukatas but other costumes from different cultures too! XDDD

These are the few that I've personally browsed through. Hope you like my recommendations! =3 Will blog more if I find more!

Love,
Lilian
